Since the formation of the council, and with the help of private citizens and supportive organizations, the council began a complete overhaul of the village.  This included the initiation of a study of the villages' resources, attempting to gain an understanding of the villager’s short and long term needs, as well as, preparing studies of structural approaches to communicating with official and private corporations and benevolent private individuals. In the previous period, a number of projects were completed; however some are still in process.

Completed Projects

1. The building and furnishing of the council and the social services headquarters Cost: $110 thousand dollars, contributed by UNDP, KFW & other sources.

2. The building and furnishing of Al-Bathan kindergarten

      Cost: $50 thousand dollars, contributed by the British Consulate & The Near    East Foundation.

3. Project reinforcement of electricity and the illumination of the streets

      Cost: $100 thousand dollars, contributed by Energy Authority & the Financial    Ministry.

4. A 27 kilometer ware main

      Cost: $500 thousand dollars, contributed by the Japanese government & the Water       Authority.

5. Pumping of waters and construction of the carrying line from Al-Taban spring Cost: $65 thousand dollars, contributed by OXFAM–GB & the International Red Cross.

6. Addition of class rooms

      Cost: $50 thousand dollars, contributed by the Foundation for Italian     Scholarships & Pecdar.

7. Road-making subsidy in the length of 3 kilometers

      Cost: $70 thousand dollars, contributed by the Islamic Bank

8. Agricultural improvement, covering with fresh soil in the length of 7 kilometers Cost: $30 thousand dollars, contributed by the Agricultural Relief & other sources

 

Projects in Process

1. Planning and preparing a draft and an organized outline for the village with the cooperation of Al-Najah National University.

2. Addition of class rooms for the school in construction.

The Needs:

Ø      Building Al-Bathan school: Considered the most important for solving the problem of the 900 students, as mentioned in the education section.  All of its documents are ready and authorized

      Cost: $750 thousand dollars

Ø      Road-improvement subsidy in the length of 4km.  It will need to be necessary to consider both quality of soil and slope. The soil should remain solid in the summer, and should resist cold temperatures in the winter.

      Cost: $150 thousand dollars

Ø      Building a water tank with the capacity of 300 cubic meters connected with the carrying line to the spring.

      Cost: $80 thousand dollars

Ø       150 garbage and waste trucks which are necessary due to the village's wide natural areas and due to its location over aquatic sources, also, in order to protect it from pollution as it will become a tourist area.

      Cost: $175 thousand dollars

Ø      Furnishing and preparing a healthy clinic for the village.

      Cost: $40 thousand dollars

Ø      Building and furnishing a headquarters for the different foundations of the village

      Cost: $80 thousand dollars

Ø      Substantial financial contributions distributed through different laborer organizations in the city under the supervision of the council and the supporting organizations in a manner consistent with high virtues and manners.
